Martin Truex, Jr. tops speed charts during 2023 "Busch Light Clash" Practice Sessions

NASCAR Cup Series veteran driver Martin Truex, Jr. and his No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing team showed up to the 2023 "Busch Light Clash" practice sessions with speed right out of the gate. He would best his fellow Toyota alliance "teammate" Bubba Wallace by 0.05 seconds on the racetrack.

The NASCAR Cup Series field of the 36 chartered teams were divided into three practice group's, each consisting of 12 drivers. NASCAR used the 2022 owner points standings to place each driver into the three groups.

Tyler Reddick is accredited for running the most practice-laps during the three sessions, as he posted 117-circuits around the track in the No. 45 Toyota Camry. As for the least number of laps run, rookie driver Ty Gibbs' practice experience would be unfortunately cut short due to a fire inside the No. 54 Toyota Camry, causing him to miss out on the 3rd and final session for his practice group.

Here is the complete practice results from the L.A. Coliseum:
